Reach offers a variety of recreation programs specifically adapted to meet the needs of people with developmental disabilities. The programs are designed to promote physical health, gain confidence, enhance team building skills and to have fun! We offer a non-competitive environment and programs are designed for ages 14 through adulthood. Click here to download department flyer.

Art Abilities

This series of workshops will invite the participants to explore their creative interests beginning with warm-up exercises, followed by painting, drawing, journaling and other abstract creations to help the participants learn a different method of communication. This activity is made possible through a generous grant funded by the Bentson Foundation.

Ice Cream Social & Yard Games

Join us in welcoming our newest partner, Inver Grove Heights, as they host an Ice Cream Social & Yard Games event! Beat the summer heat with delicious ice cream and friendly competition while mingling with new friends and neighbors. Therapeutic Programs

Reach is approved to bill ILS therapies for Recreation, Music and Art Therapy. Out-of-pocket payments are accepted and you can register online or via mail using the paper Registration Form. Dance Workout

Get ready to move, groove, and sweat with our dynamic dance workout program! You can follow along with our energetic instructor in a series of fun and engaging dance routines that will help you burn calories, boost your fitness, and unleash your inner dancer.

Cut Flower Arrangements

Engage your senses and creativity as you learn the therapeutic benefits of floral design, fostering mindfulness and relaxation. Join us to cultivate beauty, inner peace, and a deeper connection to nature through the transformative power of arranging flowers.

Time: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Heidi’s GrowHaus – Corcoran
Age: 18+

Painting Small Group

This small group class is designed to provide a safe and supportive space for adults with disabilities to express themselves through painting. Participants can explore their emotions, build self-esteem and develop new coping skills in a therapeutic setting while creating a new project each week.

We offer different activities each season for children, teens and adults including:

Community-Based Social Activities

We offer a variety of activities for people of all ages!

Independent Adult Programs (formally known as On The Town) – This independent social program is for adults and young adults who want to explore their community with minimal support.

Teen Explorers  – Our teens group focuses on outdoor education and experiences. 

On The Town: All Abilities – This is a community-based social program for adults and young adults who want to explore their community. Companions are welcomed to attend.

Dances – Join your friends and groove to the latest hits on Friday nights. Locations and exact dates vary.

Social Seekers – This program is for teens and adults (15+) on the Autism spectrum. We meet once a week for fun, social interaction and to play games, solve riddles and work through our weekly highs and lows.

Wednesday Night Social – The goal of this program is to become more engaged in your community and to build social skills, coping skills and prctice flexibility.

Arts, Crafts & Seasonal Fun

Art Abilities  (Ages 12+) – Art Abilities is a series of free workshops that offers the opportunity to explore a variety of art media. The workshops will invite the participating artists to explore their creative interests beginning with warm-up exercises at each session, painting, drawing, journaling, creating masks, and other abstract creations to help the participants learn a different method of communication. This program is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

 Seasonal Arts & Crafts – Each quarter we plan and facilitate crafts and other activities associated with the season.  We do everything from tie dye, to mother’s day gifts, to gingerbread houses! Check out our quarterly newsletter to see our current offerings.
