Crypto Donations

Donating Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or other cryptocurrencies to Reach is an impactful, efficient way to support our mission to great brighter futures and inclusive communities.

Does donating Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies offer tax benefits?

Donating cryptocurrency directly to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit may offer tax benefits compared to converting it to cash before donating. Since the IRS treats cryptocurrency as property, donating it can be a more tax-efficient way to give.

Provide your email at the time of donation, and you’ll receive a tax receipt.

How can I donate cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin to Reach?

We currently accept direct donations of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other supported cryptocurrencies through our donation portal powered by Every. All you need is a basic understanding of cryptocurrency transactions and a desire to give.

Which cryptocurrencies do you accept?

Currently, we only accept cryptocurrencies listed by Every. This list is subject to change and to see the latest list, please visit Every’s website.

List of cryptocurrencies (additional ones on their website):

Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Apecoin (APE) ERC-20, Avalanche (AVAX), Basic Attention Token (BAT) ERC-20, Bitcoin (BTC), Dai (DAI) ERC-20, DogeCoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), Polkadot (DOT), Filecoin (FIL), The Graph (GRT) ERC-20, Chainlink (LINK) ERC-20, Litecoin (LTC), Polygon (MATIC) ERC-20, Raydium (RAY) SPL, Samoyed (SAMO) SPL, Saber (SBR) SPL, Shiba Inu (SHIB) ERC-20, Solana (SOL), Uniswap (UNI) ERC-20, USD Coin (USDC) ERC-20, Tether (USDT), Tezos (XTZ), & ZCash (ZEC).

For cryptocurrencies that exist on multiple networks, like Polygon (MATIC), which is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and separately on its own network, which one do I donate?

To check if a token is ERC-20, scroll through the supported assets on Every. For tokens available on multiple networks, Every generally accepts the Ethereum (ERC-20) version. Be sure to confirm which network is supported before donating.

Is my donation refundable?

No, blockchain payments are non-refundable by design. Always double-check the accuracy and authenticity of any address before sending cryptocurrency. This is a best practice for all bitcoin and crypto transactions.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my cryptocurrency donation?

Yes, when you donate through our Every portal, you’ll be prompted to enter your email to receive a tax receipt.

Can I donate anonymously and still receive a tax receipt?

Yes, if you prefer to donate anonymously, you can provide just an email for the automatic tax receipt and choose not to share any other personal information.
