Adaptive Recreation Services
Reach offers a variety of recreation, therapeutic, inclusion, and transportation programs, all specially adapted to support individuals with developmental disabilities.
Adaptive Recreation
Reach offers a variety of recreation programs specifically adapted to meet the needs of people with developmental disabilities. The programs are designed to promote physical health, gain confidence, enhance team building skills and to have fun! We offer a non-competitive environment and programs are designed for all ages.
Inclusion
Inclusion is more than the mere presence of people with disabilities or other special needs in general programming; it is the full and active participation of all individuals together. Reach works with city parks and recreation departments to provide an extra staff person at a program when a person with a disability requests additional accommodations to be successful.
Music Therapy
At Reach, music therapy is more than just making music. It’s a powerful, engaging way to work toward personal goals that go beyond the music itself. Led by our board-certified music therapist, sessions are designed around each individual’s unique needs. Together with the participant or their caregiver, our music therapist helps set goals that may include improving focus, cognition, motor skills, communication, self-expression, confidence, or social skills. Whether it’s through rhythm, melody, or movement, music becomes a motivating and meaningful tool for growth.
Trail by Reach
Trail by Reach provides transportation for adults with developmental disabilities living in Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Golden Valley, St. Louis Park, and Richfield. We transport our riders to recreation, leisure, and educational programs offered by Adaptive Recreation & Learning Exchange (AR&LE) and Reach, if a program is hosted in one of these designated cities. All programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of people with developmental disabilities, providing the independence to enrich their lives, mentally, creatively and socially.
Reach in Motion
Reach in Motion is a transportation service that enables individuals to use county waiver or county funds to cover Lyft rides through a Lyft Pass arranged by Reach for Resources’ Transportation Manager. Once your Lyft Pass is set up, you’ll have the freedom to use it for rides anywhere you need to go, without any out-of-pocket costs. All ride expenses are charged directly to your county waiver, making transportation easier and more accessible.
